Texas Tech Fired Who?!?!?!?

I had to break the really bad news to Landon that the greatest university, Texas Tech, fired our favorite football coach today....

so we had to make (and eat!) Triple Chocolate Cake Balls to drown our sorrows

it worked....

However, things will be MUCH better once Tech reinstates Leach.

C'mon Tech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Landon wants Coach Leach to be his coach when he plays there in 2028!!!!!

Landon's 1st Christmas

Landon's first Christmas was wonderful!

We had a HUGE surprise and Landon's first Christmas was WHITE!!! It snowed us in at great granny's house in Stephenville, but it was a fun experience and we got to spend extra time with family. Thank goodness for Wal-Mart! Jason made a quick run to Wal-Mart and picked up stuff for Landon so we were set for the night.

Santa came to visit! He delivered the presents to Lampasas so we opened them a day late when we returned from our winter wonderland adventure!

He loves his red wagon!

Helping Daddy put the wagon together!

Talking on his phone and riding in the wagon!

Dusty went for a ride too!

It is so fun to stand up and ride around!

Cutting his eyes over at mommy... waiting for us to tell him to "sit down!"

Snuggling in my Texas Tech snuggie

Matching Ugg boots (Landon's uggs were mine 29 years ago!)

Opening Elmo with Nana and Grandpa

Checking Elmo out

Loves his Mickey Mouse train from Nana and Grandpa!

And lining it up with his Leap Frog table and pushing them both around!

A Brock family tradition is to re-enact the Christmas story. This was our year to be Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus!

Cute Christmas boy!

And Daycare celebrated Christmas too! They had a little party one day & had Polar Express Day where the kids wore pjs and watched the movie (surprisingly Landon was watching the movie/sitting still/being quiet when I picked him up). Shocker!!!

Ready for Polar Express Day at Daycare!

Eleven months

Landon is eleven months old!

*Sigh*.... time flies!

This month's picture was almost impossible to take because it requires Landon to sit still for one second! Glad we only have one more month of our monthly picture ;-)

Oh the back arch!!

Even Dusty tried to help out with the picture!

Fun things he is doing at 11 months:

Developing a distinct personality with wants and demands
Waves bye bye
Claps
If he coughs, he will add in a few extra fake coughs at the end for dramatic effect ;-)
When adults are talking, he watches and nods his head and says "yes"
If we ask him questions- "are you the cutest boy" he nods and says yes
He fake laughs if no one is looking to get attention
Eats all table food (except eggs, peanut butter and milk)
Is starting to reject the bottle/formula and wants his sippy cup with water
Kisses
Says mama, dada, and Du-eee to the right people :-)
Stands alone if he is distracted playing with toys, but sits immediately when he realizes he is standing alone
Throws toys
Could play for hours in the bathtub
Can climb 5 steps before I realize he is missing

Not so fun things:
Cries when mommy leaves him at daycare or when mommy leaves the room (praying this phase quickly passes!)
Is working on tooth #9
Is still fighting the ear infection
Wakes up once during the night most nights
Still hates the carseat and has added in a back arch with the screaming when we get in the car
Throws himself on the ground for a semi-tantrum (I guess prepping for the toddler days)
Can climb 5 steps before I realize he is missing

We love, love, love our little Landon and can NOT believe he is almost 1. He occupies all our time & thoughts and we wouldn't change a thing! He is an absolute joy and we are SO blessed to have him in our lives!!!!!!!

Ready for Santa!!

Landon is ready for Santa!! But are mommy & daddy?!?! We don't even have Christmas cards yet :-( Landon & I have gone shopping after work every day this week trying to catch up on gifts here and there....

Landon knows he has been the bestest, bestest boy ever this year so he will get lots of goodies ;-)
The one present under the tree is just for Landon to play with. I really do have presents, I am not THAT far behind- they are just all put away and out of the reach of little hands!!

Always pushing toys across the floor!

Landon's latest pose- closing his eyes when I take out the camera to cheeeeese really big!

Cheeeeese!

Snow in Houston!!!

And this was our backyard this morning. Still lots of snow! We have had snow on the ground for over 24 hrs now! My poor little palms and hibiscus don't know what hit them :-(
