5 months

Happy 5 Month Birthday Sweet Girl! You are still the easiest, sweetest, happiest baby ever! You are always grabbing our faces and giving us huge open mouth kisses. You love to cuddle and rock. This past week you have been a little fussy, but Saturday, July 16 your first tooth finally broke through (bottom right tooth)
It's hard to see, but it's there!!

You love to play and be entertained! You laugh really, really hard when we tickle your belly or legs. You also like peek-a-boo. You roll back to belly really well. We had to start putting you down in a sleep positioner because you were rolling over every night and couldn't roll back over so it was waking you up.

You love big brother SO much & the feeling is mutual! You are constantly watching him and laughing at his crazy antics!! You laugh when he plays with his cars- zooming them around. And love it when I bring one of his toys for you to look at.

You are finally ready to eat foods. It took you a couple of weeks to get the hang of things, but you have it now. Although you aren't a huge fan. You closely watch us eat food and open your mouth every time we take a bite, but you aren't a big fan of puree I guess. This morning I sent peaches to school and you refused to eat any of it. You have tried: sweet peas, bananas, sweet potatoes, pears, peaches, avocado. You take 5 oz. every 4 hours (or so, once again not a big eater). Usually you wake up between 2-4 am to nurse. Bedtime is 7 pm and you are very strict on this! If we are home, it is impossible to keep you up past 7. You really couldn't be more easy going or happier. You are just perfect!

We love you Ashlyn!

Circus and Movies- Oh What Fun!

We took Landon & Ash to see the Ringling Bros. Circus this Sunday. Landon was soooo excited about the circus. He has been watching Gabba Circus for a while now so he is pretty much a circus expert ;-) He was the most excited to see the ELEFLANTS. He kept talking about seeing the "eleflants" all week. Then it turned into he was going to feed them, then on the way there he told us he was going to ride them. Where he got this idea of riding/feeding elephants- we have no idea!!! Riding or feeding the elephants wasn't an option there, but luckily he was so mesmerized by the hoopla he forgot all about his big plans!

Little sister "enjoying" the circus (she would have much rather been at home in bed :-) )

Checking out the animals

Landon couldn't look at the camera for a second because he would miss the show! Ash is clearly excited (and please notice the awesome $12 cotton candy!)

Happy baby hoping we are headed to bed soon!!!!

We had a lapse in judgment on Saturday and decided to take Landon and Ashlyn to the movies to see Cars 2. We have Cars 1 recorded and he has never been interested in it at all so why we thought he would sit through Part 2 is a mystery! Anyways, Landon thought he was pretty big stuff with his big popcorn at the movies!!!! He wouldn't sit still so we tried to leave, but he boo hoo-ed big time so we went back and stayed through the end. To make a long story short, in the end Landon was sitting on the front row with a friend he had made during the movies. Oh my gosh.

Big boy at the movies!

2 1/2 years

Can NOT believe this little booger is 2 1/2 today!!!! He is the funniest, cutest, smartest, and most energetic 2 1/2 year old ever! He is ALWAYS laughing about something and ALWAYS on the go!!!! Right now he loves money (pics above asking for money and counting his money on the steps). I gave him a little drawer in our house to keep his money in and he loves it! Friday a sno cone truck comes to daycare so he is obsessed with making sure he has his sno cone money. He also loves to play store. He goes shopping in his toy closet with his shopping cart and brings it to me to check out and pay. Other things we have to remember:

"Hi babydoll" (that is what he calls Ashlyn and always says that to her especially if she is waking up from a nap) Ash barely has time to open her eyes and he screams "She's up!! She's up!! Hi babydoll." It is precious! He also says "Hi blue eyes" a lot to Ashlyn.

"I said yes" in reference to me saying "Landon I said no"

"Turn left" every time we get in the car he gives me directions

"Daddy at?" Always asking where everyone is

Loves ballgames and has pretend ballgames at our house. He sits on our steps or gets his chairs out and cheers to the imaginary game and takes his camera & money and takes pictures. He always says the Rangers win! Loves all sports and likes to watch and play golf a lot right now.

Loves the Gabba Circus show and Charlotte's Web

Loves to pop popcorn when we get home from school and loves to do the microwave.

When we say we are going somewhere he will say " Noooo let's go shoppie" or "Noooo let's go home" as a joke.

Always wants his feet covered at night. Sleeps with his blankie, pooh bear, Ashie blankie, Gabba blankie, pillow, tractor, puppy dog, Dora, Boots, and a light (and usually throws a few books in there too)

Counts to 20 in English

10 in Spanish

Says all the ABCs

Knows green, blue, yellow, orange and sometimes red

Can dress himself and put his shoes on

Favorite songs:

I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee

Slippery Fish

Little Light of Mine

Tech Fight song

Jesus Loves Me

You are my Sunshine

Deep in the Heart of Texas

PS- Ashlyn, you turned 5 months on Tuesday and I will write your 5 month post as soon as we take your 5 month pictures! :-)

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July. We watched our little hometown fireworks because the Houston show didn't start until 10 pm. 10 pm... really?!?! that is way too late! Who goes out at that hour? Definitely not us... that is our "middle of the night" these days. We popped popcorn and watched the fireworks in the back of my car in our pajamas at the decent hour of 8:30. Landon loved the "lights in the sky" and would name all the colors. He also kept telling us to take pictures of the fireworks. Ashlyn stayed up for the whole show and watched too!

Cute shirt his teachers made at school.

Astros Game

We took Jason to the Rangers vs. Astros game June 29 as part of his Father's Day present.

Landon showing us which way to walk. He was so excited!!! Ever since Jason took him to opening day he has been asking every day to go to more ballgames.

Rangers shirt and Astros hat- supporting both teams!

Ashlyn was really excited about her first baseball game.

Landon intently watching the game. He cheered the entire game

He would say "Let's go, let's go, chchchchchch" over & over. When they would get up to get snacks, I would know they were on their way back because I could hear his little voice cheering all the way down the stairs.

Our seats were really neat because they were right over the pitchers.

Just like he did at the Texans game, he got mad at me for taking pictures of him and wanted me to take pictures of the game instead.

Ashlyn tried to watch the game...

but she wasn't so impressed!

Both babies were asleep, sharing Ashie's blankie, before we even got out of downtown!
