Destin 2012

We had the BEST family vacation to Destin, Florida in July.  Poor little Landon- we booked the trip in February and I think he asked every day if we were going to the airport to go to Florida.  He looked forward to this day for many months!! Everytime we saw a plane in the sky he would say "That's going to be me!"  Ashlyn even started saying "me" everytime she saw a plane.

Our flight was delayed due to rain in Houston, but the babies kept entertained by watching all the airplanes coming in.

Poor little Ashie cakes- she pretty much hated getting dirty with the sand which can be a real problem on a beach vacay! She was happy in the water (pool or ocean) but could have done without the sand touching her!  No doubt this will change in the future!  Every girl loves to lay out Ashlyn :-)

Landon loved every thing about the trip- airplane ride, Putt Putt golf, building castles, swimming in the pool.  He had the BEST time!

Ashlyn's 18 month check up

It was medically confirmed today.... we have THE smartest and THE cutest baby girl in the entire world!
The peditrician said she isn't even talking baby talk- she moved on to real sentences.  The other morning she woke up and told me "I'm thirsty".  She bosses us around and talks non stop.  She is firery and determined, but has a very, very sweet, cuddly side.  She says: mama, dada, bubba, no no, don't bite it, I'm thirsty, Thank you, Love you, milk, water, snack, stop, go, Gabba (Yo Yo sometimes), Dora, dog, eyes, ears, nose, belly, hair, mouth- just to name a few!

 First time to wear "clippies" in her hair out (she ripped them out 5 seconds later).  I always tease her we are going to put clippies in her hair, but she HATES them!

The girl likes to eat!!! (except vegetables or meat).  Junk food please!

 

Climbed up the Chick Fil A playscape to play with bubba in the car for the first time.  Minor point that Mommy had to climb up later and rescue her when she got scared :/

Happy 32nd Jason!

 We celebrated Jason's birthday with sprinkle covered cinammon rolls.  The babies thought it was great to eat breakfast with Daddy since he is normally at work when we get up.

 Jason & I were lucky enough to spend a night away to celebrate the big 3-2.  We ate at Shula's Steakhouse and drank at the Spindletop with Ty & Jenny.  We stayed out until 1:40 which is wayyyy late for us!  32 is the new 21! (PS- Thanks Nana & Papa for keeping the babies- who I'm not even sure realized we were gone.  Chuck E. Cheese and Bass Pro Shop are paradise for Landon & Ashlyn)

Beautiful birthday cake the babies decorated for Daddy.  They were so proud of their cake.  We sang Happy Birthday and blew out candles for a good 30 minutes (it's one of Landon's all time favorite activities).

70th Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated my granny and papa's 70th anniversary this weekend. What a milestone to be married longer than some live! The babies had a blast at nana and papas too. They played outside the entire time. Landon has been asking to go for a while now so I was happy we were finally able to make it down!
