Happy 8 years!

Jason took off work on our anniversary so we could spend the day together. We took the kids to school and headed to the Houstonian which I believe is heaven on earth. It was Jason's first spa experience. We drank mimosas, ate lunch and relaxed.  We were planning to then go to a brewery tour, but the weather was soooooo cold and rainy we went to shop instead. Picked the kids up and headed to our fav fire restaurant for dinner.

Ashlyn's 3rd Birthday

The sweetest girl in the whole wide world (seriously!!!) turned 3 on February 12.  Landon and I ran upstairs to get her when she yelled "Mommy, it's not dark outside.  I slept all the dark away!"  The things she always says when she wakes up in the morning...

Then she wanted to lay in bed and watch movies.  So typical of Ashlyn!  "That was a great movie, guys!"

Life is a musical with Ashlyn.  She is always singing, dancing and acting out story lines from movies.

Next Ashlyn picked to eat lunch at Chick Fil A.  We had a blast eating, playing and eating ice cream.

Then we went to see Frozen in the theatre (Ashlyn and Landon's 3rd time to see it!).  It was a special sing-along version where they had the words on the screen and encouraged you to sing along.  Ashlyn was in heaven!  She loved it!!

We were supposed to be at her school at 2:30 to bring cake & juice for her friends.  Typical Ashlyn style she fell asleep!!!  She can sleep anywhere/anytime!  We had to skip her official nap to see the movie so she made it up in the car.

She popped right up though and was ready to party with her school friends and big brother

Ashlyn has been asking for almost a year to get her ears pierced.  I kept telling her she could on her 3rd birthday hoping she would forget.  She didn't forget though and a few weeks before her big day I realized we had to do it so I made the appointment.  The girls were so awesome at the salon.  I was far more nervous than Ash.  She took it like a champ- no crying or whimpering at all!  She just sat there like it was no big deal.

The girls interviewed her afterwards and made a cute certificate for her.

We opened presents at home.   She got a Sofia shirt and Cinderella gown from us, Landon gave her Sofia and Minimus and Nana & Papa gave her a Frozen doll.

We went to dinner at Gringos (she wanted the ice cream and chips).
It was kind of crazy at dinner.  I think we were all exhausted from partying all day and since she had missed her nap she was done.

Then Ashlyn wanted to have a Royal Sleepover (from Princess Sofia) so we all slept in our bed!  Such a fun day to celebrate the best girl in the whole wide world!  We are so lucky she is ours!!!  Happy 3rd birthday Ashlyn Kate!  You are seriously the best little girl ever!!!  We love your silly, singing, dancing, cuddly, loving, movie watching, drama making self!
