New Orleans

Landon took his first trip out of state to New Orleans, LA. Not exactly the most baby friendly city, but I had a work conference so we decided to make it a family weekend! Jason has great stories about having a hard time just trying to find some place to eat lunch with Landon. Most restaurants were bars/gambling so "No Babies Allowed!" It was really fun though.... although next time we might keep it an adults only vacation! :-)

Nine Months

Landon turned 9 months last Wednesday. At his check-up he weighed 24 lbs. (92%) and was 29 3/4 inches tall (90%). He is crawling on all fours now so his belly is no longer dragging the ground. He is pulling up on everything, transferring to other objects then cruising around. Today when I picked him up from daycare, he was walking around with only 1 hand on the wall.

And the best news is.... his ear infection is FINALLY responding to antibiotics. Landon says "woooooo hooooooooooo!"

Landon is no longer a vegetarian! He joined the carnivore club on Friday. He HATED it! I thought Jason was going to cry when he tried to spit out the chicken! The next day he tolerated it a little better so things are looking up! In the end I am sure he will love it (so Jason won't have to worry his son will be a vegetarian ;-))

Mommy's little helper!

Nana and grandpa bought Landon his first pair of real shoes! He was so cute trying them on in the store. He clopped his feet around like a horse! It was hilarious!

Nana and grandpa came down to take Landon to the Pumpkin Patch.

Pumpkin Patch 2009=FAIL

Landon hated it! I think he has an aversion to orange which secretly makes me happy because I won't have to worry about UT in his future. Now if only I could find out how to make him hate maroon....

Cutest monkey on the block!!!

Landon says "Bye Bye". It is precious!!!!

Ear infection HELL

How can these cute, precious little ears cause so much grief?!?!?! Poor Landon (and mommy and daddy) have been suffering with a double ear infection for 2 weeks now!!!! We have tried 2 different antibiotics and now are on a series of antibiotic shots. Unfortunately, Landon needed one of the shots today and since only ER/urgent care centers are open on Sundays we had to go to our neighborhood ER to get the shot. Poor Landon! Hopefully tomorrow will be his final shot and we can put Ear Infection Hell 2009- behind us!!!!

Ready to watch the Cowboys after our first ER (non emergency- thank God!) experience :-(
We were THAT family. You know the ones that use the ER like a primary care doctor :-(

We called in reinforcements- Nana and Grandpa!!! They came down to watch Landon because Jason & I had planned to stay the night in Dallas for our anniversary and hit up our old stomping grounds, but we couldn't leave Landon since he didn't feel well :-(

My friends from college, Amanda & Melissa, came down to visit last weekend! Landon's ear infection was just starting to flare back up again so he was getting pretty fussy during their visit. Pretty sure we squashed any baby fever they may have had for a few years :-(
Overall though, considering how long Landon has been sick and how painful ear infections are.... he has been pretty happy and never lost his appetite (thank God!). Most days you would never know he was sick at all. Then randomly at night he would wake up screaming and be up all night in pain (thank you inventors of baby Motrin and Tylenol.... your products are heaven!!!) These nights would send us straight back to the doctor and then they would tell us how bad they looked, start a new antibiotic and/or shot... you get the picture. It's been a revolving door to the pedi office and pharmacy....
So next time you see Landon's ears-- kiss them! Those babies are worth lots of money now (ER visit, multiple doctor visits, injections, antibiotics, etc). hahaha!!! Just kidding! They are worth every penny!!!!!! (who needs to go on vacations anyways!)
