Yes!

Most babies say "no" to everything, but Landon's favorite word is yes- especially when it comes to Nana and grandpa visiting. He nods his head and says "jess" if you ask him a question.

Post Bday Wind Down...

We have had a quiet weekend at home which is always nice!!! Although Jason & I did go out last night to a friend's party and Landon had his first babysitter other than the Nana/Grandpa team. Uncle Zach came over to babysit! Landon was already asleep when we left and Zach's report when we came home was that he thinks he snored one time while we were gone! haha! In the most exciting news, Landon took his first steps yesterday (a few in a row) and this morning walked back & forth between Jason & I several times. Of course we have to lure him with a remote control to get him to walk. He is VERY scared to let go which fits with his little personality. He is pretty cautious and likes to check everything out before he joins in. This entire week he has woken up everynight for an hour in the middle of the night. We blame everything on his teeth and I do think he is getting in his molars, but the walking development could explain it too because according to the baby experts (the internet!) babies wake up a lot when they are developing new skills. We are also transitioning off formula to whole milk and switching from bottles to sippy cups so Landon has a lot going on!!

Landon is really into books lately. He likes to be read to and if he gets the book he opens the pages and "reads". It is really cute!

Loves to feed us. You can't fake him out either and pretend like you are eating what he is giving you. He keeps on until you eat it. This translates into lots of chewed up food and soggy cheerios for us.... YUM!

He's a pointer now!

Uncle Zach taught him how fun it is!

A couple of funny sidenotes of memories we will never forget:

There are no pictures of my parents because -although they were there- they were working their booties off!!!! I was struck down (and I mean STRUCK DOWN) with food poisioning the day before the party (dang you Chuckie Cheese salad bar...it tasted sooo good!) I was in bed all day/night the day before and woke up the morning of the party still debating if we should cancel. My parents got here at 1o am and helped get all the food prepared and ready to go. I was too terrified to touch any food or plates, etc for fear I might get someone else sick! They worked HARD to get everything ready and keep it going with Jason! Luckily, I had already decorated everything (it pays to be an overachiever sometimes). That night Jason surprised me with a night away to celebrate our first year as parents so then my parents kept Landon overnight. Poor Nana & grandpa- they thought they were coming to a birthday party and worked all weekend!! THANKS! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

And the freaky monkey cake! When I ordered the cake, the bakery kept telling me they couldn't copy the exact monkey because it was trademarked, but that they would do their own version. I thought they were just telling me that for legal reasons! I kept telling them it had to match exactly because EVERYTHING matches. Literally, no other monkeys or colors were allowed for any decor! I was so picky and everything matched exactly! Needless to say, I gasped when I saw the cake. I kept it up high on the table so the small children weren't scared!
