Hate this post, but this is our baby book and family memories so I would be negligent to not remember such a big event in our year. Ashlyn fell off a concrete railing November 28. I heard the fall and looked back and she was laying on the ground, on all fours. It sort of looked like she was playing. I ran over and asked her if she had just fallen and she wouldn't respond. I picked her up and she was limp and just kept saying "mommy let me sleep, I'm tired". UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping she was just dazed. We walked around for a bit and tried to get her to eat pretzels and then she started vomiting. So we headed to the hospital. Stupidly, I left Landon, Addison and Jason to gather up Landon's stuff (he was on the field playing baseball) so it was just Ash and I. She was vomiting non stop and couldn't stay awake. We tried to pass the time by singing songs, but she would lethargically try to sing in between vomits. Finally I got nervous on our drive and just pulled into an ER. The wait was insane. She was so lethargic and getting worse so I ran in the back and grabbed help. They immediately got her on the CT scanner and gave her a shot of Zofran. It seemed like forever (probably only 15 minutes) and they told us her CT was clear. We were clear to go home after a few hours. We monitored her all night. Sadly, the next day the vomiting restarted so her pediatrician had us go back to the ER. This time I took her to Texas Childrens. They monitored her and after a long while decided she was ok to go home. She slept for about a week. She slowly started to wake up and went back to school half days. She was very limited- no electronics, no PE, no climbing, running, etc. In true Ashlyn fashion- she handled like a champ- and helped us see the bright side. She spent a lot of time coloring, playing quietly with dolls and listening to Michael Buble'. Her pediatrician had us see a specialist who at first wouldn't clear her. We returned after a month and then he cleared her back to full activities. We can happily, thankfully and so relieved to say our Ashlyn is back. We all missed her terribly!!!!!!

Right after the fall, in the first ER
The next day, Texas Childrens
Addison missed Ashlyn terribly so she would just lay on her or with her as she slept :-( It was so heartbreaking. We all missed her so badly and were so anxious for her to wake up.
